Latin American Photography Contest

Latin American Photography Contest. I placed in each category - 2nd Place in Culture, 3rd in Landscape and 3rd in City.

Landscape: I saw it all in Costa Rica. Traveling through fields full of anything from strawberries to plantains to coffee beans to pink pineapple. Walking through clouds in dense forrest, to tropical beaches, to small artistic towns and to bustling cities. Encountering wild sloths, monkeys, deer, raccoons, crocodiles, farm animals, marine life galore, colorful birds, butterflies as big as my face - but alas, here is a photo of some chickens. Yes, even chickens are a part of Costa Rica's vast and gorgeous eco-tourism. ¡Kikirikí!

Cityscape: After my study abroad, I was lucky enough to have my family from the states spend some time in Costa Rica. One of our adventures included a trip to Sarchí in the province of Alajuela. Sarchí is known for it's intricate art and traditional ox carts. This image is of the church in town, Templo Católico de Sarchí Norte. Fun fact, it's actually green!

Culture: Meet Desmond. I meet him while exploring Panama. His father help lead a snorkeling, hiking and boating trip to 3 different small islands. He was such a sweet little boy. After swimming with Starfish, we were tired and had fresh coconut water to replenish. I couldn't really tell you how exactly I got to Panama from Costa Rica (there was a lot of wagering, water taxis, walking and forms) but it was worth it - breathtakingly beautiful piece of earth.
